Stockport County vs. Walsall

Edgley Park

20th Feb 2007

7-45pm

Walsall travel to County

If Walsall wanted an easy game to bounce back from two consecutive defeats, this isn't it. As Walsall go into the game on the back of a series of shaky results, Stockport have become the form team of the league, yes even better than Hartlepool. In fact only the Saddlers can boast a better home record. In fact since on loan Dingle Wayne Hennessey has been between the sticks he has let to conceed a goal,630 minutes in total. Stockport have won there last seven games without a goal against and hve only let in two in there last ten games. Easy it isn't

Vital Quotes:

DD has been talking about the need to battle to gain anything from Tuesdays game.He has been asking for a performance similar to the won that saw us return from Macclesfield with all three points.
He has also stated concerns over the County pitch which due to its Rugby games is a little bit thread bare in parts.

Stockport County Team News:

No real excitement in the Stockport ranks although Tes Bramble is pushing for a return to the starting lineup. As Adam Proudlock may return from injury to the bench. Striker Anthony Elding is in rich vein of form up front with Andrew Pilkington at the moment.
In Defence Rose, Williams, Owen and Clare have been outstanding. Whilst in midfield you've got the general Jason Taylor you've got David Poole and Adam Griffin giving the wide option, and they have just added Dominic Blizzard from Watford who has done the 'ugly' job in the last two games. Failing that you've only got Tony Dinning on the bench

Player to watch: Wayne Hennessey

Will be well known to local Express and Dingle readers as he has struggled to break into the Wolves first team. However the welsh under 21 stopper has been impressive since his loan move to County. He has let to be on the losing side and has let to conceed a goal.

Walsall Team News:

We willbe without the centre backs Alan Picken and Anthony Gerrard. Otherwise it is the usual suspects. The question been will DD make changes or let the old faithful try and prove the point

Player to watch: The Team

If there ever was a time for the team to pull together and grind out a result this is it,individual highs need to be scarificed for team benifits.
