Sheffield United vs. Walsall

Bramall Lane

Sheffield United v Walsall - Preview

The Saddlers are back on their travels this evening as we visit Sheffield United.

The Blades are under performing this season and have already changed their manager. Walsall will feel that tonight could be the night to record only our third ever win at Bramall Lane.

Vital Quotes:

Andy Taylor "It`ll be nice to see some familiar faces and go back to a club where I spent three years ," he said. "But it`s just another game of football for me to concentrate on and we will go there determined to do a job and get the points.'

Nigel Clough ''Walsall will come to Bramall Lane in confident mood, anyone who saw them beat Peterborough recently will know they are dangerous going forward, so we will have to be at our best defensively.'

Sheffield United Team News:

Former Saddler, Febian Brandy serves the last of his suspension tonight so wont face his former side.

Player to watch: Harry Maguire

It shows how poor a team is struggling when a defender is currently leading goalscorer.

Harry Maguire currently leads the way with five goals this term.

Walsall Team News:

Walsall have no fresh injury doubts ahead of the trip, the only change that could be made would be the introduction of Nicky Featherstone to toughen up the midfield.

Player to watch: Craig Westcarr

Walsall's leading scorer will hope to score against the Blades like he did in April this year when both sides drew 1-1.

Westcarr has been indifferent form recently but you never know which Westcarr will show up.

Match Facts & Stats

Walsall have only won twice at Bramall Lane in eleven attempts.

Both sides have faced each other twenty three times in their history with Sheffield United winning twelve to the Saddlers five.

The Blades have only won three from a possible ten at home this season and they are yet to keep a clean sheet.

Ref Watch:

The man in the middle is Christopher Sarginson from Staffordshire. Walsall are yet to be officiated by Mr Sarginson but Sheffield United lost their last home game officiated by him. It has been exactly one year since Sarginson handed out a red card.

Match Prediction:

Given Sheffield's poor start to the season and our approach to frustrate the home supporters, I will go for the scoreline that has won us both games at Bramall Lane, 1-0. A solo goal by Craig Westcarr will fire us into the top six!
