Tranmere v Walsall - Preview
Another day, another match for Walsall to try and win. I think a few people will see this as an harder test than Crawley on Saturday but Tranmere arent in great form at the moment and our record against them recently isnt too bad so who knows?
Ronnie Moore ''The games that we've lost have been so close and so tight to call. It's not like teams are coming here and murdering us.
'I'll guarantee you that Walsall won't have as much possession as MK Dons had on Friday night.'
Dean Smith 'Tranmere are doing ever so well. Ronnie Moore's done a fantastic job there since coming in at the end of last season
'Hopefully, we've now put a couple of demons behind us and we can move forward in the league.'
Tranmere Team News:
Centre-backs Ash Taylor and Ben Gibson should be fit to play despite missing training on Monday, but on-loan striker Jake Jervis has returned to Birmingham.
Player to watch: Jake Cassidy
How annoying is it as a Walsall fan to see local neighbours loaning out players to League 1 teams from Liverpool/Yorkshire and London rather than us?...Tranmere signed Jake Cassidy onloan from Wolves until January, he has scored 10 goals already this season and is the league's leading goalscorer. Considering we have conceeded nearly 40 goals, I cant see us keeping this young gun quiet!
Walsall Team News:
Walsall will still be without injured star Flo Cuvelier, although the Belgian will be in contention for Saturday's game with Hartlepool.
We will also be without skipper Andy Butler who is serving a one match ban. Paul Downing is expected to replace him.
Hemmings and Brandy are set to start following their improved performance on Saturday. Smith will have to decide whether to partner Brandy with Grigg or Bowerman.
Player to watch: Ashley Hemmings
@AshHemz has potential to become a great signing, however like the majority of our signings over recent years, you just get the feeling that he will dwindle away like the rest, however when he has played a full match he has looked decent.
