The first pre season game away at Halesowen tonight, brings football back to all saddlers fans, a whole three days since the world cup final. The surroundings may not be the same as Berlin but the hospitality will be just as warm if last seasons trip is anything to go by.
Richard Money states that most of the squad will get a run out but 'it's too early to expect a full ninety minutes'. He also says that it is an oppourtunity to look at options for the defensive crisis that the suspensions to Westwood and Roper have caused for the Rochdale game. So it is possible that Mr Versitile ie Mr Dobson will have a period at centre half tonight.
Home team, I have not got a clue, but the food is good and the bar will be open so I am told. Car parking is mainly street parking with one small adhoc car park which was a couple of quid last season. Pre match drinking isn't a problem and the town centre is a brisk walk from the ground if required.
If going by car remember the stretch from the motorway into Halesowen can be quiet congested so leave plenty of time.
Hopefully he will have plenty to do.
All the new signings Butler, Ince, Dobson and possible Bedeau will get a run out.
Also rumours suggest that a trialist keeper may get a run out. The keeper in question is rumoured to be Saul Deeney who was at Burton last season, making a name for himself in the cup tie against Man Utd.
Whether sun tan man Mr Paul Taylor springs any other AN Other players we will have to wait and see.
It is too early to make judgement or comment on individuals but it will be interesting to see how the team has gelled under the new man.
Ian Ropers game against WBA on saturday 3pm Bescot.
