'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Desperate Dann

Fans have vented their irritation at departure of one of the club's chief prospects who had only recently signed a new three and year deal. From a Jeff Bonser point of view the move would seem ideal as he would no longer has to pay Ian Roper to be a bench warmer and all the promise Manny Smith is showing in the reserves if he was to step up.

Walsall promotion campaign which needed strengthening has been depleted now by the exits of Fox, Sweeney, Dann and Ricketts and surely it would be too much to ask of the current squad to keep up their current high standards.

The move to Coventry comes in wake of their dismal form which saw them lose against Hull in the week. Dann and Fox may have to face the proposition of playing a division lowers than their colleagues they're leaving behind next season.
