Walsall's Martin Brittain goes

The club have confirmed that former Ipswich and Newcastle wide man Martin Brittain has left the club, after having his sort term contract terminated.

In truth we didn't see enough of Martin to make any hard or fast judgements he was clearly short of match fitness and sharpness, but didn't look out of place on the right (not so good on the left mind you). However for the youngsters point of view the fact the short spell here joins a growing list of clubs that have looked and said thanks but no thanks you do wonder about how his career will cope with another set back.....Wrexham perhaps he can chat with Danny Sonner and Paul Hall.

It is interesting that since Martin came to the club Eddie Sonko has refound his form and hit three goals in the process, perhaps the Geordie Lyall effect. As as Geordie failed to kick a ball in anger last season but he certainly put pressure on Craig Pead and Chris Westwood to perform !!

What ever the behind closed door reasons we wish Martin all the best.
