Loanee Sweeney to Leeds

Leeds United have agreed a deal to sign midfielder Peter Sweeney from Stoke City.

Sweeney has recently been on loan with us, but is now poised for a switch to Elland Road.

Terms have been agreed between the clubs, with Sweeney due to undergo a medical next week.

The 23-year-old played under current Leeds boss Dennis Wise at Millwall and featured in the 2004 FA Cup final against Manchester United.

He joined Stoke in 2005, but has struggled to establish himself under Tony Pulis and linked up with Walsall in late November.

Sweeney played in the Saddlers' 1-1 home draw with Leeds in December and was booked in the match. Where Denis started making his shopping list it appears.

Looked useful n the last couple of away games for but this is league one, my only downside with him was he lacked an end product.
