Walsall star praises Jimmy Mullen

Danny Fox has admitted that he and a lot of players didn't know much about Jimmy Mullen when he left Hednesford Town to join the staff under DD. Now that makes me feel old.

How ever the man who has proved his promotion creditials by taking clubs out of this division as manager is credited as been a major factor in the Saddlers recent progress.

According to Foxy Jimmy has brought a bit of banter into the dressing room which has helped an already fantastic team spirit. However his real benifit has been on the training ground where he has proven himself to be a first class coach.

Also DD has come in for rich praise from one of the best left backs in the division this season, Fox states that the fact that DD has maintain his confidence in the crop of youngsters has paid dividends. As he stated the fact he didn't enter the loan market and filled the side with expensive loan signings has really paid off even though we laost five of our first six fixtures.

I can't help wondering what the new year might bring.....would it be too much to ask for us to pull a leaf out of the book that saw our friends the monkey hangers take us to the wire for last seasons championship, after an equally if not worse start in league two.
