Walsall's Picken in injury mystery

Walsall's Picken in injury mystery

Walsall are finding that Aussie defender Alan Picken's quest for fitness is still proving frustrating. Whilst fans are wiondering if the end of the line is on the horizon for him.

Money said: "He keeps hitting a plateau where he seems ready to play, and then he continues to get some pain in his knee.

"We are reviewing the situation with his knee but he is having a real problem getting over that plateau to go on the pitch and play.

"He can do pretty much everything in the gym and he can run but once the ball comes out it`s a problem for him.

"It`s a disaster for him because he has come over here to make a career for himself and I think everyone who went to Rochdale last season knows what he could give us.

"Unfortunately playing in that game has been a major problem."

So the player who some, myself included thought might have been the best signing of last year on his showing at Rochdale seems a long way off a return. The condition must raise the question is there something else wrong which has not been detected!

We all wish the guy the best of luck in his fitness fight and his quest to build a career in England.
