Jimmy Mullen Joins Saddlers

Walsall have made an appointment to their backroom staff, The official site and the Express and Dingle both breaking the news of the new first team coach who will be helping out with the crop of exciting youngsters who are on the verge of breaking into the first team.

Jimmy Mullen for our younger reads is 54 years young.Whilst older saddlers fans will remember him as a Sheffield Wednesday player and manager of Burnley and Blackpool. However he hasn't had far to move since he has been with local non league club Hednesford Town, where he was the Assistant Manager.

The 54 year old`s greatest success came at Burnley, where he gained promotion twice and achieved something approaching hero status amongst the fans. The official site quotes him as saying how much he is looking forward to been involved and that he has kept his coaching qualifications upto date and is a holder of the pro licience, so thats Walsall 2 Chelsea 0 then !!!
