'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Northern Saddler

There are many things that go on in football that people often look at and go why did that happen? DD obviously does the same and is starting to show a ruthlessness side to his character. If you don't block a cross which results in a goal, then your subbed! Ishmel Demontagnac has been down this road before when he failed to turn up to the coach to travel for an away fixture. This time, he is in hot water for failing to defend. Oh dear! Even so, I see it as being harsh to substitute a substitute if he makes one mistake - it doesn't happen with rubbish goalkeepers...all the time. However, if it gives old 'ASBO' a kick up the backside, then so be it! He's talented and has the promise to develop into a top player. However, his lack of discipline has been seen by DD and he is now trying to do what Merson failed to do - make him a complete player.

Saturday's result at Millwall was a welcome win and the gamble of taking Demontagnac off and putting on Deeney on in his place seemed to pay off when he scored the winner. The problem is, can Deeney now look to cement a place in the starting lineup? Probably not at the moment, but perhaps in the future, as he seems to be capable of scoring goals if his performance in the reserves is anything to go by. As long as we can stick the ball in the back of the net, then we will get enough points to stay in the league...in theory.
