Walsall's Butler to Posh for 100k

The Express and Star are running a story saying that Walsall have turned down a cash offer of over 100k for striker Martin Butler. Also when the offer was made we asked if we could have Dean Keates back as part of the deal after he had been left out of the side for the cup match.

Make of it what you will, I think 100k for Butler would be a good deal if you have a replacement however with our No1 Target ending up at Bristol City it looks like we thought he couldn't have been replaced.

However if we did ask for Keates as part of the deal it looks like we were interested in selling at some point.

The clubs finances despite new sponsorship deals isn't as rosey as some clubs so the club should be praised for turning the offer down for footballing reasons not just taking the money!!

Full story is in tonights Express and Star
