League One Round-up

League One Round-up

Walsall`s first game back in League One ended with a 1-1 draw with Carlisle, after slipping to a goal in the first 15 minutes. It took a goal from birthday boy Tommy Mooney on 47 minutes to make sure the Saddlers start the season with at least a point. Elsewhere, Leeds started the season brightly with an important 2-1 win at Tranmere, while Forest were held at home to Bournemouth. Shock of the day came at Roots Hall, where Southend United, previously of the Championship, were beaten 2-1 at home to Leyton Orient. The Os had to come from one goal down to net an 86th minute winner.

Here is a list of the results from the opening day in League One:

Cheltenham 1-0 Gillingham

Crewe 2-1 Brighton

Doncaster 0-0 Millwall
