Having lost 2-0 to Blues Walsall face Aston Villa at the Banks's stadium tonight at 7.45pm. The game will no doubt attract a large amount of Villians whilst the Walsall faithful seem less enthusiastic about the game as the novelty seems to have worn off.
Of course the game is very much part of the package which allowed Villa to use the Banks's ground for reserve fixtures so at least the money will all go into the Walsall coffers.
The game itself is probably a game neither manager wanted so close to the season kick off. Hence I would expect plenty of changes as both managers will want to protect players for saturday. As for the pre season form guide if it counts for much has been a mixed bag for the Saddlers, whilst a winning habbit will most likely come to an end tonight the performances have been mixed although as DD has said we have been playing tired due to the amount of fitness work the players have carried out. As for Villa they come into the game on the back of an impressive 3-0 win against Inter on saturday, Inter who had previously given Man Utd a real hard time.
Predictions a 3 or 4 goal defeat isn't out of the question it is just hoped that confidence isn't damaged just before the season starts.
On a side issue all eyes will be on the main stand as transfer activity hasn't been ruled out, so spotters will be after glimpses of Richard Jackson or Darren Byfield or even someone else.
