'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Ex Walsall player shock

David 'mini' Preece passed away this morning at the age of 44 years old. The club has issued a statement but it is enough to say that the news of his death after a short illness has devastated the club especially those who knew him well.

David was fondly remembered by all Walsall fans and his midfield skills lit up the old fellows park and were given a national platform during our league cup run to the semi finals. Where despite a 2-2 draw at Anfield we failed to win through but won many hearts of neutral fans. David soon after moved on to Luton Town.

Like many a true fan and the fact David is the same age as myself, and remember sharing a pint in some Walsall pubs with him and Shakey et al, this news has shocked me to the core.

All I can say is that all at vital football pass our condolences to his wife and three daughters
