Walsall sign Portuguesse Striker

Walsall have announced the signing of Carlos Carneiro. The 32 year old joins Walsall on a one year deal from the Greek club Panionos who finished in the top five. Carlos has spent the majority of his career in the top division of the Portugal league. So it might be a bit of a culture shock, from playing in front of thousands at the stadium of light, to one man and his dog on a wet tuesday night in the Johnstone Paint trophy.

His record doesn't seem to suggest that he is a prolific scorer with 14 goals in 98 games in the top flight!! however he does give us another option and with the drop in standard it will be hoped that he will find the net more often.

It is rumoured that our old friend Jorge Leito helped in the deal. Oh by the way it has been reported that his name translates to sheep....so lets feed the sheep and he will score as some one on UTS put it.
