Walsall bid for Byfield!!!

Walsall bid for Byfield!!!

In an article in tonights Evening Mail DD let it slip that Walsall have tabled bids for two players. Whilst the club itself has refused to name the players or the value of money we are talking about, however one Walsall site has backed up weeks of rumour by nailing it's colours to the mast and stating that Darren Byfield is one of the men in question. Of course this is not new news since Darren left Walsall he has kept close links with the club, even training with the Saddlers during previous close seasons as well as the odd round of golf with some of his ex Saddler chums.

The Express and Dingle also follow up this interview with DD stating a clear don't panic and has stated his desire to bring in four or five new faces.

It also confirms as reported here and else where, we did hold talks with Jack Lester. However DD states that contract lenght nor money was the reason he didn't come to Walsall, DD just didn't think he was the right man for the job....either brave or foolhardy only time will tell!!
