Merson puts Boot into Walsall

Paul Merson perhaps one of the best players to pull on a Saddlers shirt has put the boot into Walsalls hopes of success next season. Lets face it when Merson speaks about football management he doesn't speak from a position of strenght.

So in last nights Express and Star Merson the manager who used 50 players in one season and still took us down, has moaned that we have signed Paul Hall and Danny Sonner. He also moans that we will miss Keates and Westwood....too players who took the money rather than wait to see what was offered, and in Deano's case he would have stayed if the offer made in May was given to him last January. Then to top it all he has concerns that DD will react if things don't change.

Well it is no suprise that DD has had a go back in tonights Express and Star. He reinforces the reasons he signed them namely they can do the job asked of them. He also talks about them been comitted players, and his squad is more comitted than last season....insight into his thoughts on Keates and Westwood talking to the Posh during our promotion run in perhaps.

All in all DD is confident things will be right for the start of the season. Merson has earnt his next pint !!!

I'm sorry, but does anyone remember the Liverpool vs Barcelona incident. He proved himself to be the biggest incompetent idiot ever to have spoken about the chance of a team winning a cup tie, so why should anyone listen to him belittle DD's tranfer policy, when his was to sign every player going. I think Merse needs to learn how to have an opinion which might make sense rather than just say something controversial. Remember Merse, when you signed for the club, you were a 35-year-old has been, hence you came to Walsall. Don't be a hypocrite!
