Leeds to spend

Chairman Ken Bates has said Dennis Wise will have enough funds to launch a strong challenge in League One and current situation will not hinder their hopes for next season. There transfer ban will be lifted in July according to the FA. Ken Bates told reporters..

'I don't discuss figures, and never have, but Dennis will have funds available to him, We're in limbo slightly but that does not stop us talking to players formally and agreeing deals in principle.'

'We've already held lots of informal discussions, and Dennis has got a long shopping list, we actually sent him away on holiday while all this was going on because there was nothing more he could do. But he knows who he wants.

'Obviously we've had a few setbacks and missed out on a few players, but that's inevitable regardless of whether you're in administration or not. It happens every year and you never get every player you try for.'

At the end of last season Leeds released seven out of contract players but are expected to offer new deals to Tore Andre Flo, Rui Marques and Matt Heath once the club regain their ability to spend. Also rumours that Walsall were trying to get Lee Frecklington from Lincoln looks likely to be sabbotaged by Leeds new spending power.

On a personal note how must all the creditors who have lost money be feeling at this news. I know that if Walsall were in the same position I would want the board to pull every stroke possible to save our club, but this loophole needs to be closed and a fair system introduced.

How all the creditors feel? Well 75.2% decided that it was enough for them.

24.8% will be disgusted

In that case, surely the article should contain some balance, rather than just jumping on the leeds-bashing-bandwagon.
LUFC1
Article is a personel view point, also our club suffered when Leciester did the same thing. I have no axe to grind against Leeds it is the rules that are wrong. Thats why it states that if the roles were reversed I would have wanted my board to use every trick in the book, but it still doesn't mean it doesn't mean the rules don't need to change.
Big No 9
Well the league has now changed that rule, it's a good article it's just annoying everyone keeps bashing Leeds.
LUFC1
The rule change doesn't go far enough in my opinion but there is little we can do about that, so I look forward to your visit to Walsall, most league one teams will welcome the extra revenue your away following will bring.
