Walsall and Cherries go head to head
Now this rumour is really out of the box, in fact it seems so unlikely perhaps there is a grain of truth in it.
Bournemouth have denied Sunday news paper reports of there interest in the Ex England striker, but sources are saying this is a smoke screen although his wage demands and age have made the Bournemouth board show more caution.
Now some people are suggesting (I don't know if it is fact or fiction) that Walsall have approached Teddy Sherringham to join the Saddlers to do his coaching badges and coach the promising bunch of young strikers on the Walsall books. Also so rumour has it Jeff Bonser would hope for the kind of media attention that Paul Merson brought to the club and of course put more bottoms on seats.
Whilst the papers have been full of some of the bagage that comes with him, it would be true that his presences would be attractive to some potential strike targets.
So watch this space to see if this rumour turns out to be fact or fiction.
