'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Walsall's Hayter link

However I wouldn't get too excited the prolific striker has a year to run on his contract and the words transfer fee and Walsall never seem to go together.

However a move for James Hayter if true is certainly a move for the right type of player. If we don't get this target one of a similar calibra would be nice.

A number of factors would seem to count against us in the hunt for Hayter. Firstly interest from his former boss at Doncaster who have already made a bid and spoken to the player. Another is interest from Bristol City who tried to sign him in January, they can now offer him championship football. Whilst Blackpool are also after James but are not showing there hand until after the play off final, so they may also be offering championship football, and as with Bristol are able to offer big wages especially since the foreign investor came along. So in the cold light of day to pull this one off would be a real coup.
