Walsall Wednesdays

A memorable week in the history of Walsall Football Club has seen a league title, a stadium name change, and DD need for more players. Good times! However, I am in agreement with Roy Keane over the trophy presentation at an away ground, which is apparently forbidden. Manchester United won the Premiership at Everton four years ago, and there was not a rumpus over that one. So, why do all the champions in the Football League have to wait until a civic reception? On the up-side, all the fans get to see the trophy presented, while the players get a rest before they receive the trophy. It`s all just twaddle though, because you want to be presented with the trophy like we were at Cardiff, because it adds to the occasion, for both players and fans. Sort it out FL!



The Banks`s Stadium? What?! I have already voiced an opinion on the matter, but I would just like to rekindle what I said. It`s silly. I know there will be extra income to go on buying new players and I know it is not like we have used a completely stupid name (well, that one may be up for debate), but it makes me sad that we have to give in to this, I will still call it the Bescot, and you should too…please. It`s just like the Floors-2-Go Stand, we still say the Purple Stand, mainly because it`s easier.

I would like to finish on the fact we are Champions, just so I end on a high. I am proud to be a Saddler up here in the North West at the moment, and I have had a load of congrats from every Wiganer, Scouser, and even the odd Manchurian. The national media should take note!
