'If It's Football, It's Vital'

No Trophy whats that all about

Well we won the title and like Sunderland and Scunthorpe we have to wait to have the Trophy.

For me the fact we recieved the play off final trophy at Cardiff was one of the high lights. But the FA have said that league title trophies will not be presented on the day of the win if it happens at an away ground. Another kick in the teeth for true footballing fans. Okay I admit health and saftey has to be a consideration, but true fans would not object to seeing the opposition lift a trophy in there ground. In fact I a sure some would even stay and watch..I would if someone had won the league at Bescot.

As for Saturday, with both sets of fans celebrating and shaking hands not necks. Swindon and Walsall fans were swooping shirts and appaulding each other, a trophy presentation would have been a fitting tribute to the day not only the Saddlers.

Another factor is not all fans live in Walsall so another trip back to Walsall on a Tuesday evening, on the day most would have returned to work, to get to Bescot for 6pm is just not practicle.....how long will they have to wait to see the trophy.

Mr Barwick I think you have got it wrong, but what do you think have your say on our poll, on the home page.

Great day, but surely tradition says the trophy must be lifted at the end of a game

What if though, and I'm glad they didn't, Hartlepool had the clinched the title - how the could the cup had got there in time or vice versa. Even if both sides were at home how does that work out.

Before they have had a replica at one ground, the real trophy ready at the best choice and nobody has been the wiser!!! FA have said Sunderland weren't presented with the Trophy on police advise......blame others!!!
