Dean Keates to leave!

Dean Keates to leave!

The rumour has been doing the rounds that Dean Keates and Chris Westwood had been approached by Peterborough to join there promotion push...as new owners are splashing big money in the summer to get the Posh up, as part of there five year plan for the top flight.

Sundays papers have actually put additional facts to the rumour, especially concerning Dean Keates, whilst the situation is quiet over Westy.

Dean Keates the local lad who has written his name into Walsall history this season by becomming top scorer and player of season as well scoring that goal on saturday to confirm the title, has according to the press been offered a 3 year deal at Posh on higher wages than he would get in league one with us!

However DD has also spoken of his desire to keep Deano and has stated that he will be doing everything to keep the lad at Bescot. Most importantly he has said that he believes Keatesy wants to remain a Saddler.

One key thing about both Westy and Deano is that they both returned to the midlands for family reasons, so the links and reasons to remain are strong. However just like Andy Morrell who wouldn't join us because he wanted to stay close to his East Midlands roots, some times money talks, once agin how close is Blackpool to the East Midlands...he must have had Rob Savages geography teacher!!
