Walsall's teenage solution

This is taken from the Express and star site and the full story will be published in tonights Express and Star.

Boss Richard Money is considering throwing teenage defender Mannie Smith into Walsall`s promotion battle tomorrow.

With Ian Roper and Scott Dann ruled out for the season and Allan Picken also injured, Chris Westwood and Anthony Gerrard are the obvious candidates to play at the heart of defence against struggling Accrington Stanley.

But Money today revealed Smith is in his plans after an impressive week on the training ground.

"I have plenty of options but I have to say that young Mannie Smith has been tremendous this week," said Money.
