Promotion rivals run in

Stockport County (on 63points)have blown up somewhat in recent weeks and two consecutive defeats last week has seen them drop out of the running. Although with 21 points to play for it's not over until the fat lady sings. They should recover from there 2-7 mauling away to Torquay, but follow this up with a difficult trip to Lincoln. Chester at home and Maccesfield away should raise confidence for there final three games MK Dons at home and Darlington away on thne final day with Bury visiting the County ground inbetween.
Those three games against MK Dons Darlington and Licoln could decide where they finish.....looks like play offs to me.

Lincoln City (67 points)losing yesterday to Swindon was a blow. They will need to bounce back in time to face Rochdale at Spotland, The Dale will be full of confidence sfter saturdays 2-7 despatch of Stockport. In fact it is Stockport who then visit Lincoln next, before a trip to Darlington. It is these next three games that could well define Licolns season. They need to find some consisitency. However they could finish the season with a storming run, Wrexham (h)Bristol Rover(a) Grimsby(a)and Chester (h) are all very winable, although local rivals Grimsby won't roll over.
It could go down to the wire for The Imps but it may well be play offs again.

Swindon Town 70points Started the season as one of the bookies favorites and are right there in the mix. Like ourselves they have a reasonable run in. However they have had a bit of patchy form recently and will need to prove they have turned the corner with the win at Lincoln.
They play Shrewsbury(h),Hereford (a)then it is there game in hand Rochdale away. This is followed by Torquay (h)Bury (a) Mansfield(h) Bristol Rovers (a)then of course that final game Walsall at home.
I fancy Swindon to make automatic promotion

MK Dons 71points Ref's Lee Proberts favorite team will need to hit the ground runing after yesterdays close escape. They have on paper the toughest run in, although on paper they have the best team, just to prove things aren't that simple. Herford (a), in form Grimsby(H) play off chasing Shrewsbury(a) Darlington (h), Stockport(a) Wycombe (a) and what could be a crucial for both teams final day encounter with Accrington at Home.
There destiny could have a lot to do with the position of Shrewsbury, Darlington, stockport,Wycombe when the Dons play them. If they are all still playing for play off places things could be tough for them. if a couple have fallen by the wayside by then things will look easier.
I fancy that the Dons might just miss out.

Hartlepool 78points Promotion all but mathamatically assured. I my view the title is theres to lose. With the run in they have I can't see them dropping five points to let Walsall or anyone else in. Home games against Chester,Accrington Notts County and last day opponents Bristol Rovers. Three away games are tougher but winnerable Barnet Wycombe and Rochdale.
A good time to be a Poolie

For any none Walsall fan reading this is how the Saddlers shape up.
Walsall 73points Having hit a bad spell and a tough run of fixtures we go into the run in on a four game unbeaten run with only one goal conceeded. Next weekend we see Accrington at Bescot and Walsall visit Torquay. This is followed by Hereford at Home and another large away following to Notts County. Of our final three games we have Bury and Wrexham at Home and a last day game at Swindon.

Prospects fingers crossed.
