Walsall & Matt Carbon..The Truth

The officially site has finally admitted that Ex Saddler Matt Carbon IS training with Walsall.

Manager DD has stated that Matt or sicknote to the fans is training with the Saddlers in an attempt to get fully fit after an unsuccessful spell with New Zealand Knights.

However there is more to report than that since DD has also confirmed that once fit and of course before the transfer deadline. Matt may well sign on a loan until the end of the season and would be used if needed.

Also despite not appearing in the last reserve game, Alan Picken's fitness seems to have taken a turn for the better and DD expects him to be able to take part in the final run. So with this news Ian Roper is now the only absence and the defensive worries seem less of a concern.

News on the transfer front is also positive with DD admitting that his attention has moved away from strengthening the defence to other areas of the team. This may include a striker since Lee Mathews at Crewe is on the verge of recovering from injury. However the new question is whether Crewe will release him since other injuries have taken hold.
