Free Transfers Saddlers Could Sign Before End Of March

Free Transfers Saddlers Could Sign Before End Of March

So with the transfer windows firmly shut the Saddlers are able to sign players without a club before 5pm today. These players must have been released from their contracts before the transfer window slammed shut in January.

With Dean Keates desperately needing reinforcements we look at some of the possible freebies he could go for in the ten days before we face Portsmouth with the hope of injecting much needed experience and quality into the poorly assembled squad.

MARK DAVIES
Midfielder
Davies is a local lad (born in Willenhall) - he has experience of relegation scraps having been in one with Bolton. However the former Wolves and England youth star would cost a pretty penny but the opportunity to play locally and get game time might be beneficial to both parties.

KELVIN WILSON
Defender
The Saddlers are in desperate need for experience at the back. Wilson would bring that, at the age of 32 Davis has played for some big sides including Celtic and Nottingham Forest. He has been without a club since leaving Rotherham last Autumn.

ISMAIL MILLER
Striker
Now Miller has not pulled up any trees since being once touted one of Englands hottest prospects but he has scored fifty goals in professional football and despite not having a club since last summer he could answer our goalscoring problems.

LEWIS MCGUGAN
Midfield
Mcgugan was released from his short term deal with Northampton in January after falling down the pecking order under Hasselbaink. He knows this division and would add much needed steal into the midfield.

MILAN LALKOVIC
Midfield
Lalkovic was released from his contract with Portsmouth in January following yet another bad move in his career. Lalkovic has only had two stints in his career and both were at Walsall. His second stint wasnt as good as his first and his game play is probably something we dont need right now, but he can win games and we need to win some!

If you have any other suggestions on who we could target before 31st March let us know on our Twitter and Facebook pages.
