Ref Watch - Four Games, Three Reds & Three Penalties


The Saddlers host League 1 promotion hopefuls Wigan tomorrow evening at The Banks's Stadium on the night Dean Keates takes charge of his first game as Walsall manager, the match officials have been announced and are as follows -

Referee - John Brooks
Linesmen - Richard Bartlett and Michael Denton
Fourth Official - Christopher Sarginson


Brooks has officiated forty one games so far this season showing one hundred and twenty eight yellow cards, dishing out six red cards and awarding eleven penalties.

Last season he took in thirty six games, showing one hundred and fifty yellow cards and ten red cards.

Brooks has officiated four games involving the Saddlers in the last few years, with the Saddlers winning two, drawing one and losing one.

Brooks has sent off three opposition players in those four games, Sam Slocombe for Bristol Rovers last season and Croft and Wilson for Oldham in March last year.

In the four games, Brooks has awarded three penalties - two to the Saddlers and one to Doncaster.
