EXCLUSIVE - Former Keeper O'Donnell Praises Outgoing Cutler

Former Walsall goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell has today spoken exclusively with Vital Walsall on the departure of our goalkeeping coach Neil Cutler.

O'Donnell was coached by Cutler between 2013 and 2015 and during that time O'Donnell played ninety games for the Saddlers - including that memorable evening at Deepdale and being the first goalkeeper to put on the famous Walsall shirt and play at Wembley.

O'Donnell has played over two hundred and fifty games in his career but it was here at Walsall where he had his longest stint between the sticks and O'Donnell praised Cutler calling him one of 'the best coaches in the country'.

Speaking to Vital Walsall, O'Donnell said

'First of all congratulations to Cutts. If anyone was deserving of this move, it`s him! It`s no doubt a massive loss to Walsall Football Club but an amazing opportunity for him.'

'He`s one of the best coaches in the country in my opinion and on a personal note I can`t thank him enough for the work he did with me while I was at Walsall...he took me to the next level, pushed me everyday all to make me better.'

'Not only is he a great coach, but a great guy and a very good friend. Still we speak daily and still we speak after games about performances and goals conceded.'

'All the best on your new challenge mate!!'

We want to personally thank Rich for taking time out to speak to us and we wish both himself and Neil Cutler the best of luck for the future.
