'If It's Football, It's Vital'

All games under threat-updated

In a brief statement the football League have stated that they feel that any ground without under soil heating may well fall foul of the weather. This has been repeated on teletext and other media avenues.

Grounds in south have problems with the snow, with Gillingham for instance under two inches of snow. Whilst in the north Hartlepools near neighbours Darlington face a 9am pitch inspection. Others areas face further snow tonight and freezing conditions. Those who are facing a thaw face the problems of waterlogged pitches, but if they clear them and it freezes well it will be off.

Refs are also under instruction to consider fan saftey so there could be the same type of incidents that occurred at Middlesborough where the pitch was deemed playable but the surrounding streets etc were deemed to be too dangerous, the result match off.

As for our game, if it was to be played today it would be on. So it is only at the mercy of the over night weather and the skills of the groundsman. The forecast varies depending on who you talk too some say it is going to be just cold others are saying snow on the north east coast. So you can pay your money and take your choice.
