Trialists look to impress Whitney

Trialists look to impress Whitney

Finally, a bit of transfer talk. Unfortunately we don't have any names, positions or details that might give us an idea to the calibre of player we're targeting, but what we do know is that Jon Whitney will have the chance to cast his eye over a number of trialists this week.

The Saddlers will be hosting a two day training block for the under-23 players but a selection of unidentified trialists have also been invited and it's encouraging to see Whitney looking at potential targets this early in the summer.

Speaking to the Express & Star Whitney, said 'We are in on Tuesday and Wednesday and we'll have a few trialists that agents have put my way.

'They are all players that agents have got in touch with me about but it's a really good opportunity to have a look at them first hand.'

Interesting times, hopefully we'll be able to bring news of new signings sooner rather than later...
