Transfer talks progressing

Transfer talks progressing

Walsall manager Jon Whitney has been speaking to the media about how talks with various transfer targets are progressing.

The news will be welcome for Saddlers fans after a quiet couple of weeks since the retained and released list was announced.

Talking to the Express & Star Whitney, said:

"We have held positive talks with a number of players. It`s a busy time but we are being very proactive.'

The need for speed in this situation seems crucial this summer as Whitney will be looking to get his squad as settled as possible before a crucial second season for the boss. A stuttering start like last season could spell trouble for Whitney and the teething problems experienced by the class of 16/17 need to be avoided this time around.

Whitney also revealed one of the destinations that he has been casting an eye over.

"I`m spending the weekend in Scotland taking in a number of games."
