FSF February 2017 Round-up

FSF February 2017 Round-up

February was an important month for the game as the future of the FA came under intense scrutiny. We submitted recommendations to MPs who are calling for modernisation of the FA`s governing bodies, which to this day only has one supporter representative (the Armed Forces and Oxbridge have five!).

Yet another group of supporters showed their desire for safe standing. This time round it was the Evertonians, 90% of whom believe safe standing should be introduced at Goodison Park or any new ground they happen to move to, according to a survey run by the Everton Supporters` Trust.

We all know that matchday pies can be a bit of a let down, but it`s a matter of regional pride at Wigan Athletic. Wigan`s Mudhutter fanzine has launched a petition to convince the club to improve its matchday fare at the DW Stadium. As Mudhutter say, the little things matter.

We also reported that AFC Wimbledon`s quest to return to Plough Lane had reached another barrier, this time with heritage body Historic England, who had been asked to examine the merits of the existing greyhound stadium on site. Dons fans and well-wishers were urged to write to them so that demolition of the old greyhound venue could proceed and work on New Plough Lane begin..
