'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Villa 3 Walsall 3

The game at Villa's training ground ended in a 3-3 draw against a strong Villa side we are lead to believe.

An own goal, a goal by Alex Nicholls and a Anthony Gerrard penalty meant things ended all square. Nobody would have put money on Gerrard scoring after his shooting at half time at Mansfield.

The most pleasing thing was the return to action of Alan Picken, but he is still some games away from fitness and match sharpness. Geordie Lyall and Par Cederqvist also got run outs to he the adjustment to english football. Whilst Alex Nicholls and Darren Wrack played as they recover from injury.

The game was very much to give the fringe players and players returning from injury a run out, following the postponement of the Stoke reserve game.

Picken played for 60 minutes good to see him back I was impressed with him at the Rochdale game, Aussie site say's he lacks pace though.
