Walsall Wednesday Column

Not much to say this week about the Saddler`s fortunes, only that Lincoln and MK Dons have done us a great big favour by letting us maintain a four point lead that could increase to seven points. Well done to them indeed, as I have never been so happy to have seen a 2-2 draw come up on the tele-fax-cee-text thing.

Jamie Ward: is he on his way to Walsall? We need £100,000 to buy him, but there are two questions to this rumour/true target. Number one, how can Walsall afford to but him, and number two, why do we need another striker-cum-winger anyway. I am sure he is a good player with plenty of pedigree, but why do Walsall need to go out and spend a fortune on a cover they have already got covered. The real question lies with Tommy Wright - should he stay or should he go? I say yes, DD do not sign him. Also, Leon Clarke? Why him? He`s rubbish! I went to the same school as he did, but he was two years above me, and he had a reputation for being a bit too cocky.

Next up, Grimsby at Bescot. Bring it on, the Sky cameras will be there, so look out for next week`s column to find out my view on Walsall week.

Clarke, ASBO and Wright now that would keep the disciplinary pannels busy.
