Having just wrote about walsall's winter break and that DD had planned some behind the doors friendly games, then the official site has confirmed it.
What we didn't know was that it is going to be against Scanadavian teams.
What we didn't know was it going to be during a break in Grand Canaria.....just what the Dr ordered.
DD is using his experience of Winter breaks which happened during his time in Sweden.
He is quoted as saying it will give the team the chance to use some excellent facilities and train on good pitches and in warm weather. So I hope a cold and wet Monday night on the 15th January isn't too much of a shock for them.
He also talked about the fact that it is going to be used as a debrief for the first half of the season and to ensure that the preperation is right for the second half. That sounds like some more positive goal setting to me.
However there is no truth in the rumour that the money has come from savings in the post match drinks budget now Merson has gone. So it's hat's off to Jeff Bonser for putting his hands in his pocket. Also I understand that thanks must also go to club sponsor Harvey World Travel who put the travel accomodation package together at cost price.
