'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Ex Villa player at Walsall

In the two nil win at Coventry, Two trialists made appearances firstly Tommy Taylor son of Walsall's behind the scenes guru Paul Taylor. Tommy also played some pre season games without pulling up any trees.

Another midfielder was Colin Marshall, Colin has hada rather mixed recent history.
Despite begining his career with Villa, for whom he won the FA Youth Cup in 2002. He spent the 2003-04 season on loan at Clyde, before being released in the summer, although he was highly rated earlier in his career.
It is here where his career has seemed to go down one blind alley after another since the next two seasons he had short spells at St Johnstone, Falkirk, Airdrie United, Stranraer and Dundee. He signed for Forfar at the beginning of August 2006, but left the club by mutual consent at the end of the month, although rumours about his attitude and been a sulking type of player are also thought to behind the move. This was brought to a head in his last game when he reacted badly to been subsituted.

In total the midfielder come winger has played 47 games in Scotland, plus 28 on the bench scoring 3 goals and picking up 4 yellows.

Time will tell if a coming back home to the midlands will kick start his career or if DD will just say thanks but No thanks

Our 2 recent signings from Scotland have horrendous card counts since coming into the English league.

I always worry when cards are easier to get than goals, in this case I am not sure he is what we need at the moment, a creative central midfielder is top priority in my book.
