MANSFIELD: Peter Shirtliff has left his position as manager, after just 15 months in the job. With one win in eight matches, results spelled the end of his reign.

HARTLEPOOL: On-loan Swindon winger Andy Monkhouse is pondering a return to his parent club, when his loan spell ends on Saturday against Bury. Monkhouse says he will speak to Paul Sturrock, Swindon's manager, before deciding whether to extend his spell with United.

BURY: The Shakers have been thrown out of the FA Cup after fielding on-loan Hartlepool player Stephen Turnbull in their second round re-play match with Chester. Chester will therefore proceed to round three.
