Walsall sign Canadian defender

Walsall have captured the signing of Canadian defender Geordie Lyall from Vancouver Whitecaps.

The 30-year-old has been on trial with the Saddlers for the last month and has signed a deal until the end of the season.

He helped the Whitecaps last season to the US Soccer Leagues First Division title and there is no doubt that he has a winning mentality.

Lyall has gone on record as saying that he had wanted to come to try out his game in Europe and is delighted to have signed for an English club.

However, like recent signing Par Cederqvist, Lyall will not be able to play until the January Window re-opens.

Must have seen enough in training to warrant the signing.

Thats what I like about DD, takes his time and looks before he buys, gives fans confidence and also I bet Jeff Bonser is happier giving DD the budget than Merson
