Walsall's Craig Pead Question

Craig Pead, some fans love some fans remain unconvinced. Craig joined from Coventry and was converted from midfield to full back. It is fair to say that during this learning curve things didn't always go right for Craig especially last season. This season he has performed as well as anybody in this role although not always looking comfortable. DD has also made a success of converting Chris Westwood to full back and Chris up until saturday had started to win fans round with some solid performances.

Craig who was under Dickie Doshes guidance in the Coventry youth set up, has also returned to a midfield position this season. It was as an attacking midfield position that Craig first played for DD at Coventry. He has come off the bench and put in some albeit brief promising performances.

So with Mark Kinsella leaving the club could this be the chance for Craig Pead to tie down a midfield position, with either Keates or Dobson acting as a holding midfield player. However the returning Darren Wrack has also played that role in the past.

Craig who I understand is out of contract at the club in the summer is in need of a chance to prove his worth or he could find himself slipping out of the starting 16 and eventually out of the club. In last nights radio interview DD has stated his desire to bring in a midfield player with a couple of names already in mind. Could this be the spur to Craig to prove himself between now and January?
