As soon as Walsall released information on a new striker to be joining the club, every fan went: "Oh, who? Not Stan Collymore!" But hey, give DD more credit than that. He has been after this free-scoring machine for the last six months, and he momentarily lost out to Norwegian Division Two side Raufoss. I am of course talking about mystery Swede, Per Cederqvist. Good luck saying that every Saturday!
The 26-year-old originally plied his trade in his homeland for clubs such as, Osters, Djurgardens, Atvidaberg, and Varnamo, where he scored 47 goals in just 98 appearances; not bad eh? This season alone, he has scored 10 goals in just 11 games. So the question I want to ask is; can the new Swede mash his way into scoring goals, or will it all go turnips up (rubbish gag)?
Personally, what has he got to lose? He has a very impressive goal-scoring record and DD has said himself that he has settled in well into training. Also, closed-door friendlys against Peterborough and Coventry will determine how well he can cope with the English game before he can make his debut at Peterborough on New Years Day.
However, with his debut long away, Par has already stated his intend on getting a third promotion in three seasons, after he helped his previous employers to promotion to the Norwegian Premier Division. He also said that he thinks he is a quick player and could play behind the two defenders, as well as being a good box player.
We shall see!
