Dickie Dosh said after the game he was happy with the performance in terms of effort and organisation. Well okay I will go along with that but there was nothinging else there. We have now had thre sub standard performances yet we have re taken top spot in the league and are still in the cup....bizzare.
Last night, Clayton had two saves to make both dribbled at his ankles from distance. Even coming for a cross and getting under it couldn't brighten up proceedings. The defence in general was sound, and better in the second half. Roper and Dann had the two forwards well under wrap. The full backs struggled more, and Taylor was exposed a cople of times first half. Whilst Pead struggled to find his passing boots first half, but was much better coming forward second half. That was until his miss timed tackle in the 80 minute which belonged to Enter the Dragon more than Sky sports.
Midfield duo struggled against Macclesfields three, and hence sat on the defence too much isolating the forwards and stifling service to the wingers, Hence both Fox and Wright were spectators for the majority of the game.
Upfront Hector looked most likely to score with a couple of efforts beating the keeper as well as the post. He was taken off after 60 minutes. Martin Butler looked off the pace and was n't given anything to feed off.
In truth despite Hectors two attempts and Keates hitting the near post from a corner there was little to write home about with shots from distance been pulled wide or over the top. The facts are we were poor and lacked the quality in the final third. Everyone in league two who watched last night will fancy there chances against us.........time to shake it up Dickie
