After months of fierce negotiating, Walsall boss Dean Smith finally got his man.
Late yesterday evening Mathieu Manset penned a one year deal with the option of a second - the deal the club had offered originally.
In July Manset went back to France after the deal the club offered him wasnt suitable given his family were still living in France however over the past few weeks the situation has changed.
Manset started his career with French side Le Harve in 2008 and scored one goal in twelve appearances. Following his release Manset moved to Hereford United where his twelve goals in fifty games which alerted Championship club, Reading to sign him for an undisclosed fee.
Manset made twenty eight appearances for the Royals before moving on loan to FC Sion and then onto Carlisle and Coventry.

At 6ft 3, 24 year old Manset will certainly give us plan B should we require it.
