Walsall Sign MacGillivray
Walsall have today announced the signing of highly rated goalkeeper Craig MacGillivray from Harrogate Town after agreeing compensation with the Yorkshire side.
The 21 year old goalkeeper was out of contract with the Yorkshire club however he signed re-engagement forms which entitles Harrogate to compensation.
MacGillvray had trials at Bradford last season however MacGillvray decided to remain at Harrogate for the rest of the season.
In February 2013, Newcastle, Wolves and Doncaster were monitoring MacGillvray who was dubbed the 'next Joe Hart'
In 82 games, MacGillivray kept 26 clean sheets and Dean Smith spoke highly of him upon his signature.
Smith said "Craig is one that we have had our eye on for some time now,""We`ve received plenty of glowing reports on him from various sources so we decided to get in there early and broker a deal with Harrogate Town'
"He`s the right age and has all the attributes that we are looking for. It`s a one-year deal initially, but the opportunity is there for him to show what he can do and extend that.
"We thank Harrogate Town for the way in which they conducted themselves during the negotiation process and we look forward to working closely with Craig and helping him fulfill his undoubted potential."
Everyone at Vital Walsall welcomes Craig to the Banks's Stadium and wish him the best of luck during his Walsall career.
