Smith - Possible Signings This Week

Walsall boss Dean Smith today confirmed that he is confident that new deals will be agreed with some of his out of contract stars by the end of the week and suggested that new arrivals are imminent.

Currently James Chambers, Ben Purkiss, Andy Butler, Andy Taylor, Kieron Morris and Jake Heath are mulling over new deals with the Saddlers,

Speaking to the Express and Star Smith said "I have been talking to a few of our players whose contracts were up and I`m hopeful to have a couple of them signed up this week," he said. "I have sat down with a number of targets as well and hopefully toward the end of this week we should have something done."

Smith also confirmed earlier this week that the club are scouting the continent for talent to bolster his side and given the problems of last summer you would expect Smith to have the squad he wants when we play our first friendly against Taunton Town on 16th July.
