Walsall To Appeal Mantom Red

Walsall boss Dean Smith today confirmed that Walsall will appeal the red card given to Sam Mantom in Saturdays 2-1 defeat at Preston.

Mantom is set to face a three match ban should the appeal fail and it would rule him out of 'derby week' with Coventry and Wolves lying in wait.

James Chambers feels the decision was harsh and hopes the appeal will be successful.

"I thought it was very harsh and I said to the referee I thought he was quick to make the decision," he said.

Walsall are set to learn the fate of the appeal on Wednesday morning.

Stay tuned to Vital Walsall for the outcome.
