Christmas Toy Appeal Success

Walsall Supporters Trust Secretary Steve Davies had this to say;

As predicted the Christmas toy collection just confirmed what a wonderful bunch of fans we have here at Walsall FC as we again drove home with a very full car last week.

We will be sending toys with the players on their Christmas visit to the Manor Hospital Children's ward later this month and will also have surplus toys to distribute to the less fortunate kids in the Walsall area as well.

Mags and Evo (the organisers of the toy collection) would like to thank everyone who contributed toys, food and money to help us make someones Christmas better than it would have been this year.

They would especially like to thank Ian Hemmings for shaking a bucket in the Saddlers and all the Walsall and Port Vale fans in the Saddlers Club who contributed 123.18 into a total of 198.23 collected on the day and of course to the Saddlers Club for giving permission for us to collect in there.

The toy collection is another example of what can be achieved by all areas of Walsall FC Working together. As Secretary of the Supporters Trust I feel proud to be a Saddler as a lot of our charitable work could not be done without YOU THE FANS.

We have had discussions with the nurses on the Childrens ward and a couple of items they need for the ward have been identified and will be purchased in the next few days.

The balance of the money will purchase basic food for the Black Country Food Bank based at the Church at junction 10 for distribution to deserving cases within our local community.

As well as thanking the supporters, Vital Walsall wishes to thank Steve Davies for his continued hard work for the greater cause of the Supporters Trust. He is a true gentleman that sometimes doesnt get the praise he deserves. Steve and the trust have brought the club and fans closer together than it has been in the last decade.
Well Done
