Grigg Rejects 4 Year Deal To Join Brentford

Grigg Rejects 4 Year Deal To Join Brentford

The story which we all knew was coming, but we didn't want to believe has been confirmed this morning that leading goalscorer Will Grigg has today signed for League 1 rivals Brentford on a 3-year deal.

Grigg became the first Walsall player in a decade to reach twenty goals last term and Walsall have confirmed this morning that they offered him a 'lucrative 4 year deal' to stay at The Banks's which he declined.

The Northern Ireland international owes a lot to Walsall given the fact that until last season he struggled to reach double figures in a season. Loyalty in football? Pfft!

This is a major blow to everything Dean Smith is trying to achieve at Walsall and it remains whether to be seen if we can replace Grigg with only a month to go until the first game.

Both clubs will now try to discuss a severity package but will most likely go to a tribunal given that both club valuations are miles apart!
