Brandy To Sheffield United?

Dean Smith has today told the Express and Star that he met up with Febian Brandy at Keele Service Station to discuss his future.

Brandy was reported to have said that if Walsall had gained promotion this season he would have re-signed but as that didn't happen he wants to make the step up to the Championship.

Seems obscure to read further from Smith who said he would be disappointed if Febian was to move to fellow League 1 side Sheffield United!

Smith said: "We had a really good chat. One thing he did say to me was if we were a Championship team he would definitely sign.

'He has got plans on playing at a higher level so if it was Sheffield United he went to I would be disappointed.

Smith also told the Walsall Advertiser that both himself and the club couldn't have done anything more to lure the former Man Utd star back here.

'I've done as much chasing as I can with Febian really and it's time for him to decide whether he wants to come back.

'I've stated to him that I will be looking for other players and that if I find somebody and then Febian decides he wants to come back, there might not be a deal there for him then'
